The Staff of Mayfield FUMC

Called to empower disciples of Jesus Christ

Rev. Adam Rush

Lead Pastor

Rev. Adam Rush was appointed as Senior Pastor to Mayfield First UMC in July 2023.  Before coming to Mayfield, Adam served churches in McMinnville, Tennessee and in Waynesboro, Tennessee.  He was commissioned as a provisional elder in 2023 and is working toward full ordination.

A life-long United Methodist, Adam was born and raised in Florida. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.  In addition to serving the church, Adam enjoys CrossFit training and spending time with his family.  Adam and his wife, Karen, have two school-aged children, Alice and Joey.

Cyndi Stephens

Office Manager and Church Secretary
Cyndi brings a wealth of experience to the offices of Mayfield First UMC. A veteran church secretary and the wife of a United Methodist pastor, Cyndi makes sure all the trains are running on time and that we are all aboard before they leave the station

J. Buckley Walker

Director of Music Ministries
Buckley became our music director in 2015 after serving briefly as interim Director. He’s a product of the music department at Murray State University. Buckley loves his choir and is grateful to serve people who share a love of praising and worshiping the Lord through music.

Angela Bell

Technical Director
Angela is our worship technology manager and video production specialist. She edits our video projects and leads the worship tech crew. You can find her helping with everything from sound to lights to camera operations.

In Memoriam | James Rogers (1943 – 2020)

Building and Grounds
Following in his father’s footsteps, James faithfully served the church for nearly 57 years.  Only 19 years old when he started, James planned to only serve temporarily.  But, the longer he worked here the better he liked it.  In a church like Mayfield First, there are more doors, cabinets, closets, and storage spaces than most of us will ever see.  James knew them all like the back of his hand. We give thanks to God for his faithful servant, James Rogers.

In Memoriam | Debbie Jetton (1952 – 2021)

Piano, Organ, Bell Choir
Debbie came to Kentucky from Florida and joined the Mayfield First family in 2008. She graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in art and English, but her all-time favorite opportunity is being the pianist here. Debbie leaves behind a rich legacy of music and missional leadership. We thank God for her service and her devotion.
